Musical Minis Ayrshire Goes On Tour

FOLLOWING the success of the Ayrshire Summer Teddy Bears Picnics, Liz Rowe the Ayrshire franchisee, is planning a Musical Minis Party Tour this Autumn.

The tour will involve taking our party sessions to various venues throughout Ayrshire on Saturday mornings. These sessions will be based on our normal class structure but with more of a party atmosphere, incorporating extra fun with bubbles. The party sessions will be open to children who are not members of Musical Minis and will allow people who cannot commit to a weekly class to come along and experience the sessions.

We've decided to try out exhibiting at a Franchise Show. After many years deliberating as to the pros and cons of exhibiting, Musical Minis has taken the plunge!

The Surrey M25 Franchise Show is on Saturday 4th September 2010 from 9.30am to 4.00pm at Sandown Park Racecourse, Esher KT10 9AJ There is free entry and free car parking.

As this is Musical Minis first show we are really not sure what to expect. I'd love to here tips from experienced exhibitors. Please do come and say hello if you do visit the show.

Jolly July

JULY was yet again an action packed month.

The most exciting and time consuming event in July was the launch of our new web site www.musicalminis.co.uk. We decided that our 21st Anniversary should be marked with a web site makeover. Whilst we wanted to maintain the friendly and fun side to our approach we also wanted to emphasis the professionalism that has obviously helped us to achieve our 21 years of operation. The web site has been separated into classes (learning made fun) and franchise (business made fun) so visitors can easily find the information they are after. Both sides of the site include a free download - a Summer activity pack for the class section and tips for anyone investigating a franchise for the franchise section. Once we had decided the exact copy for the web site every word had to be proof read and every link tested. After many hours of work we are delighted with the final results.

Interflora Corsages

I RECEIVED a sample corsage from Interflora to review. The one I fancied trying and was sent was the Dendrobium Orchid Corsage. As you can see from the picture the corsage is made up with 3 striking pink delicate flowers and some leaves tied on a white pearl like bracelet.

I wore the wrist corsage to a 25th Wedding Anniversary party and discovered it was the perfect accompaniment to the black dress I had on. I think it was the colour that immediately attracted peoples attention. Over the course of the evening a number of people enquired as to where I had got it from and said they would definitely look into ordering one in the future for weddings, parties etc.

Nature Snacks

I HAVE been sent sample packs of New Nature Snacks to review. They are branded from You Are What You Eat and form part of their healthy snack range.

Nature Snacks come in 4 flavours and I was sent 2 to review. Each pack costs 89p for a 45 gram size and counts as one of your 5 a day.

Firstly, I tried Nature with a hint of exotic berries. The snack consisted of blueberries, cherries, cranberries, crimson raisins and cape gooseberries. The pack has 130 calories.

I shared the pack with 2 of my children to gauge their response too. The initial problem I had was opening the pack! I'm sure it was just me but it was tough to get into and I ended up using scissors. We had fun working out which berry was which and I'm not sure we were correct. There were quite a few berries in the pack - it seemed more than one of your 5 a day. The dried berries were fairly tasty and a good snack but I'm not sure were worth 89p. It was interesting to have more unusual berries such as the gooseberries.

Then I tried Nature with a hint of naughty.This 203 calorie snack contains a mix of cashew nuts,golden sultanas,pecans, raisins,apricots and dark chocolate drops. It is marketed as the perfect guilt free indulgent snack. I shared this pack with my husband and children and all of us found it most disappointing. The cashew and pecan nuts were soft and chewy. The chocolate was one drop! As it wasn't even particularly good chocolate we didn't feel too hard done by! The raisins and apricots were fresh and tasty but really not worth buying the pack for. I'm not sure if we just unfortunately had a bad pack but it would certainly put me off buying this snack in the future.

The other 2 flavour snacks in the range are Nature with a hint of exotic fruit and nut (pistachios, sultanas, almonds, Chilean raisins and dragon fruit) and Nature with a hint of naughty yogurt (yogurt coated pineapple, pumpkin seeds, almonds, sultanas and raisins).

The packs also come in a larger 125 gram size at a cost of £1.79  Nature Snacks are available from retailers nationwide, including Waitrose and Asda.
